Since coming under James's care in October 2021 I have been impressed by his straightforward professionalism in all respects. Timeliness, being well briefed on my case and the clarity of his advice with respect to my future surgery and recovery . These feelings were reinforced by his later clear recollections about me and my interests showing a very bright, cheerful and likeable attitude to his patients.
On the day of the procedure he was there early to give me a briefing and explain about a slight delay due to an emergency he had to deal with.
Throughout the whole procedure that day he obviously had the total confidence of the whole support team and hence the total success of his work.
I met James again today for a final check and not only was he spot on time but once again we had a very relaxed and professional meeting .

I have been under Mr Childs for approx 18 months. He is very open, he talks to you, he listens to what you have to say, he is very approachable. He is always cheerful, portrays the right attitude and is honest if he doesn't know the answer, doesn't try to fudge it. He has carried out 3 procedures on me and has got them done as speedily as possible under Covid conditions.
I don't have a constructive suggestion to improve matters because I consider the current set up exemplary.

I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the management of disorders of the knee and hip. My clinical practice includes the treatment of sports injuries, ligament injuries, arthritis and patella instability.
My practice is evidence based and patient specific. I think it is important for patients to be fully informed about the options that are available for the management of their symptoms and to tailor their treatment accordingly.
